Marcela Gerke S. is based in La Paz, Bolivia. Her career at the firm started in 1998 and she focuses on commercial and private law, family law, administrative law, labor law, international transactions, mining law and real estate.

Ms. Gerke’s experience in those fields has placed her as a top legal adviser in Bolivia not only for corporations but also for family businesses. Ms. Gerke taught pension funds law at the Bolivian Catholic University and advised on the drafting of the Administrative Procedures Law.

She obtained her LL.M. at Tulane University in New Orleans and a second master’s degree in Private Law at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores CEU in Madrid.

Her previous practice includes work in human rights training and teaching and as a Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS) advisor at the US Embassy in Bolivia.
